Noise Complaint 03-22-10

I was in Phoenix, AZ last weekend and I got to check something off of my bucket list. My all time favorite band is Jimmy Eat World and their album Clarity is at the top of my list. While in Phoenix, I was able to listen to "Goodbye Sky Harbor" by Jimmy Eat World while waiting for my flight at Sky Harbor International Airport. It sounds cheesy but it made me feel good.

Well since I was away, I don't have a ton to put on the site tonight. Big show with lots of new music. Brand new tracks from Streetlight Manifesto, Cancer Bats, Smoke Or Fire and even a debut from Against Me! Their new album wasn't set to come out until June-ish but it was leaked super early. Apparently Tom Gable from the band isn't even all that mad. He posted the lyrics to all of the songs on his blog.

If you have any suggestions for some stuff (new or old) that you want to hear on the show, please let me know. jeff@noisecomplaintradio.com

Noise Complaint 03-15-10

In celebration of St. Patrick's Day coming up this week, I'm giving away copies of Flogging Molly's latest album "Live At the Greek Theatre." It's a 3 disc set with 2 CD's and a DVD as well. It's pretty bad ass. If you're interested, shoot me an email to jeff@noisecomplaintradio.com and hopefully we can hook you up. Thanks to Side One Dummy Records for hooking us up with this giveaway. I'm also kicking off the second hour of the show with a tribute to Irish/Celtic punk rock.

My big update for this week...besides the Flogging Molly giveaway...is the debut of a brand new track from Circa Survive. I've listened to this song so many times since I got it last week that it's already climbed into my top 25 most played on my itunes. It's incredible and I can't wait to hear more from their upcoming record "Blue Sky Noise" coming out 04/20/10.

Also, I came across this video the other day. I must have completely missed it when it first came out. It's from Broadway Calls doing "Be All That You Can't Be."

Now here's what you heard on the show...

Noise Complaint 03/08/10

I took advantage of some of the nice weather we had in Baltimore this weekend to finish up a book I was working on called Juliet, Naked by Nick Hornby. Hornby also wrote High Fidelity, About A Boy and Fever Pitch. I enjoyed it and give it my seal of approval if you're looking for something to read.

On to the music. New stuff on the way from The Menzingers. Their next full length, Chamberlain Waits, comes out on April 13th but there will be an ep called Hold On Dodge hitting stores on March 16th. Here's the cover art for both...

Dillinger Escape Plan has a new album coming on March 23rd and here's the video for the first single titled Farewell, Mona Lisa.

And here's a new video from Cobra Skulls for Rebel Fate

And last but not least, the track listing for the latest "Punk Goes" record has been released and...well...it looks pretty terrible. With the exception of maybe 2 or 3 acts, there are no "punk rock" artists involved. Albums like this are why people say punk rock is dead. To take a look at the track list, CLICK HERE.

And here's the playlist from the show tonight.
